Cambridge International Curriculum from Year 1 - 6

At GEMS CIK we follow the Cambridge International Curriculum from Year 1-6 in English, mathematics and science.

Our Early Years department follow the Cornerstones curriculum which is based on the four cornerstones of learning: Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express.

These provide a broad and enriching experience with high educational standards in a caring and supportive environment. They are flexible with clear learning objectives and integrated assessment.

We are committed to providing a learning environment that prepares children for their future as responsible, confident, resilient and caring individuals.

Our primary school students will build on the foundations laid by EYFS with increasingly advanced teaching which focuses on:

MEASURING ACHIEVEMENT

Through a range of formative and summative assessment techniques we make sure your child’s progress is continuous.

ENCOURAGING INITIATIVE

We help our students learn actively, share their ideas, think independently and involve themselves in the learning process.

TEACHING CORE SUBJECTS

We dig deeper into English, mathematics, science and computer science.

INTRODUCING LANGUAGES

The earlier your child starts learning foreign languages, the more proficient they will become. We introduce languages at a very early stage through dynamic French lessons.

ENHANCING CREATIVITY & SOCIAL SKILLS

Our pupils study art, music and practice a diverse range of sports alongside personal, social and health education.

ENGAGING IN EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

From drama and choir, to computer club and art classes, we encourage our pupils to challenge themselves and explore their passions.

DEVELOPING IT SKILLS

Our pupils benefit from our outstanding and unique IT facilities. Technology is used to enhance lessons and learning experiences both as stand alone lessons and as tools in other subjects.

NURTURING LEADERSHIP QUALITIES

We give all of our students the chance to take on classroom responsibilities and leadership roles to encourage co-operation, accountability and teamwork.
